!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It could have been a lot worse...it was in fact.

No gap, not a truck. Yes I am aware of the 2 exceptions.

As long as Honda does not advertise it with to compete with full size trucks. With the previous gen Ridgeline early on that was the mistake they made early on, they advertised to the wrong market. It is a great truck-ette for people who need a truck a few times a year. Then they never really did anything in terms of advertising the past few years, and lead to its weak sales. I’m look forward this new version.

I thought the last version was sort of a pickup-ified Odyssey. This version looks to be literally a pickup-ified Odyssey.

What are the two exceptions?
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:37 |

If it can tow 5-6K lbs and get 25 highway from its V-6, I’ll take one.

But when will we see the inevitable Type-R version with the NSX Twin Turbo engine and track focused suspension developed at the Nürburgring?
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:38 |

Exactly, Honda needs to sell it as a pilot with a bed, not a pickup that drives like a car.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:39 |

It literally is going to be a pickup Odyssey...which is honestly fine so long as Honda doesn’t try to pretend its anything but.

They are saying between 6000-7000 lbs (probably closer to 6200). As for Mileage...that’s not far off, but then again its not far off a Tacoma or Colorado V6.

El Camino for one.

10 years after the first concept.

El Camino, F100, that Jeep thing...
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:43 |

Ignoring the old Ridgeline, I can only think of one off the top of my head... Unless cabover.
EDIT: Just remembered the Chevy Avalanche/Caddy Whateverthefuck but i doubt that’s what you’re referring to.

I was thinking maybe there was a rule or something. In anycase...its nonsense.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:46 |

yay!!!!
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:56 |

It’s a few steps up in looks compared to the current one
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:56 |

I was thinking unibody Ford and maybe the Avalanche.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:56 |

Both of those are what I’m referring to.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 17:59 |

Yeah, its a Honda after the “element” phase. Much better at being honest.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:01 |

This is the trouble with hard and fast rules for “trucks”. Frankly I call my cruiser a truck cause its got a fully boxed frame and 1 ton axles.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:08 |
|
I just checked... jeez the Taco can only tow 3500lbs!?
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:11 |
|
Yeah, I suppose I would have to agree with a truck being BoF and have a solid rear axle.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:14 |

car and driver? Yeah, they didn’t get the towing package (prewired lights/controller, hitch, trans cooler and bigger alternator) nah, the Taco can tow 6400 to 6800 lbs max.

I don’t consider that a must a truck is a thing that does work thats not a van.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:50 |

Honda did not sell it as a direct competitor to the F150/Siverado/Ram or any of the full sized pick-ups. I know because I was there and did one of the role out marketing tours.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 18:52 |

Oh. That’s a lot more believable.
Anyway, as others note, this segment doesn’t need a ton of towing but I can safely imagine it will be able to out-tow the 06.
The 06 pulled a racecar on an open trailer with no issues at all

It will be a great car impersonating a truck. I almost bought the old one before I realized how poorly suited my off road needs
![]() 11/24/2015 at 19:40 |

so just a circumcised Pilot

![]() 11/24/2015 at 20:01 |

So is a gutted cruiser a van? I think a truck has to have a cab.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 20:13 |
|
A cruiser is a wagon and a truck
![]() 11/25/2015 at 07:47 |
|
Oh, shit. Lets have the old one back.
(At least styling wise, this looks even less like a truck)
![]() 11/25/2015 at 13:32 |

The lack of a gap here just looks so weird, especially with it having the the typical profile of a truck now
![]() 11/25/2015 at 13:33 |

it does...but I kinds like it. I’ve never known why but I hate that gap in pickups.
